Koala Conservation Agreement Program
The Koala Conservation Agreement Program (KCAP) is a partnership between a landholder and Council to protect and reinstate koala habitat, manage dogs and improve koala movement on private property. The program is voluntary and free to join.

You can receive up to $2,000 to make your land koala friendly. Boeing and the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife, in conjunction with Council, is proud to offer landholders with koala conservation agreements financial assistance to manage koala conservation activities on their properties. The funding is available through the Redlands Koala Conservation Grants Program. To apply for these funds, please download Koala Conservation Grants Program guidelines and application form

As a landholder, when you join KCAP you have the option of signing either a three or five year agreement. In return, Council will financially assist you to manage koala habitat on your property. The agreement does not alter the title of the property and is extinguished at resale.
Benefits to landholders
- An annual koala habitat payment for the life of the agreement to assist you with your conservation efforts
- An optional one-off conseravtion works contribution towards the cost of revegetation, weed control, koala friendly fencing, dog management and management of mature koala food trees
- Property management plan developed in partnership with council
- Advice on other funding opportunities
- Advice on current bushland management practices
- Advice on dog management and koala friendly fencing
Qualifying for a KCAP
To qualify for a KCAP you must be committed to the protection, reinstatement and management of koala habitat and food trees on your property.
The property itself must:
- Have either koala habitat or food trees or the ability to support either
- Be located on the mainland or North Stradbroke Island
- Be at least 1000m2 in size
* Number of properties capped at 40 per year
