Help us plant 3000 trees for koalas! On Sunday 15 November, Redland City Council, in partnership with Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife, is hosting a community planting to create precious koala habitat. The event has the obvious benefit of helping to ensure Koala survival but it is also being used to off-set carbon emissions from the Christmas by Starlight Concert.
Council usually offsets the carbon emissions by sending donations to organisations that facilitate offset programs but this year we’re keeping all the benefits here in the Redlands.
With the aim to plant 3000 native trees, everyone is welcome to come along and get their hands dirty. There will be a free sausage sizzle afterwards.
This year’s Christmas by Starlight is scheduled for Saturday 12 December and promises to be bigger and better than ever, staged at the newly upgraded Redland Showgrounds – Norm Price Park in Cleveland and featuring Australian Idol star Ricki-Lee.
