Your Backyard Garden Program
The Your Backyard Garden Program (YBYG) provides information on how to make gardens more bushland and wildlife friendly.
The program targets residents in corridors between Council reserves, encouraging them to adopt Wildlife friendly actions in their gardens.
Benefits to landowners:
- Technical advice on environmental weeds and how to control them
- How to use local native plants in landscape design
- Advice on pets and wildlife
- Water conservation
- Incentives for property owners to undertake bushland and wildlife friendly projects
- Option of 3 visits by the YBYG Extention Officer over a 12 month period

Qualifying for the YBYG Program:
- Be located in a corridor between council reserves
- Be located within the urban footprint
- Generally properties are smaller than 1000m2
Generally, residents are invited to participate in the program via a letter, however there is a limited number of appointments available to other residents.
