The Formal Garden

Native plants can look wonderful when planted in formal gardens. Formality is obtained by placing plants in geometric patterns like straight lines, triangles and circles and in mirroring, so that one side of the garden is exactly the same as the other side.

The majority of plants in this garden are derived from rainforest or wetlands. The garden has a limited role in providing habitat for wildlife as its neatness means a lack of sites for animals to hide and shelter. It does however have a role in helping to conserve our local native plants.
